Shopping malls are slowly becoming obsolete. The Palm Beach Mall is the best example of this statement. The mall originally opened on October 27, 1967 as the largest mall in the Southeastern United States. It was the first fully enclosed shopping center that was developed in Palm Beach County. Heavy competition from newer shopping destinations and increased crime rates contributed to making it less popular, leading to its closure on January 31, 2010. Interesting to note, however a new Target has opened across the street.
Many working people simply do not have time to browse in the mall for items. Even stay at home moms with families to care for, children to shuttle back and forth to baseball, dance and other activities, find themselves with less and less time and no time for themselves. The only major drawback being you have to wait for the item to arrive where as with physical shopping you can leave the store with the item. It fits into our bustling way of life and allows us to shop without taking much time away from any other activity.
